General Information for musicians

This document is aimed at building a team of musicians, who have so far been approached individually, to perform together for a single afternoon / evening at a reunion event.  I am hoping to appoint an overall music coordinator soon.

We are searching for competent and willing musicians.  There will almost certainly be some overlap at this stage I guess, it would be a help to ascertain what styles each individual is comfortable with, but I would also like a main 'reunion band' as well as other players, comfortable with several different styles; we aim to have a large body of live music.  This is open to anyone who knows how to make and have fun with music.

The reunion web site and information pages currently available and being developed, should be a help in understanding what is hoped for at this stage.  There are a couple of documents aimed at generating interest and collating music ideas and requests/dedications from those thinking of attending (more links below).

I would like to see a fair proportion of the dedications and tracks chosen played, yet I also would like improvisation and a few of the bands own choice tracks too.

If you wish to play all evening, or simply sing a part in a song, or if you are a virtuoso player, then we would gladly fit you in.  I am, however, primarily looking for the following musicians:

Tracks and further information to be e-mailed to band members nearer the time of the event; there will be plenty of time for reviews and suggestions.  It is thought, however, that the evening programme at least should try to stick to a schedule such as:

As detailed on the main reunion website we'll try and intermix band and recorded music where possible, as there will probably be change over time required in some cases; this isn't a problem, ultimately you will know better nearer the time once pieces, arrangements, and the artists who will be performing are decided upon.  A varied, but cohesive music programme is what is sought.  It is also important that those responsible for lighting and video, understand that they too must exercise restraint and subtle artistic techniques to allow the varied music to suit the evening.

Collaborating

I personally use SkypeTM, for on-line chat (computer to computer).  Whether musicians could use this to communicate on-line about ideas and team building, I guess is a possibility; or maybe something like NetJam suits people better?  SkypeTM, however, does seam to have very good audio quality.  If people can, or wish to meet up maybe once or twice before the event, this would probably suit even better, although this could prove costly.  At this stage I am not sure how to coordinate this, and I am looking here for your cooperation and suggestions.

We hope to have some idea within a few weeks, who might wish to take part.
In the main we shall aim to try and use key musicians throughout.

If you feel you can help with any of the above, then please do get involved.

Required equipment list and a running order need to be drawn up along the way.
Please use the form, or e-mail link below to get intouch.
